How To Speed Up Network Browsing By default, a Windows XP machine connecting to a Windows 95/98/Me computer will search for scheduled tasks or enabled printers on the network computer. Disable this behavior will speed up browsing on accessing the network computer. You will experience that the actual browsing speed of both the Internet & Windows Explorers improve significantly after applying it since it doesn't search for Scheduled Tasks or check for printers anymore. To do so, you must modify your Windows registry settings using regedit.exe.
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace
To Disable Scheduled Task Checking Value Name: {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF} Delete the sub-key in the left pane of Regedit
To Disable Printer Checking Value Name: {2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D} Delete the sub-key in the left pane of Regedit
